Viridian Glass is a glass manufacturing company with locations across New Zealand and Australia that produces custom-made glass components for its clients. The company currently has two NShot-Pro system operating in two different locations.

Traditionally, a technician visits the client’s location to trace the shape of the required glass pattern onto cardboard or transparent plastic sheets. These traced patterns are then brought to a digitizing technician, who captures them using the NShot-Pro system. Once digitized, the technician exports the pattern as an AutoCAD DXF file and sends it directly to a cutting machine for production.

In addition to on-site tracing, Viridian Glass also receives customer-supplied patterns. These patterns vary significantly in size, shape, material, and overall quality.

The Viridian Glass management team selected the NShot-Pro because of its flexibility and extended reach. The system can digitize a wide variety of pattern materials — including transparent plastic marked with a Sharpie — which is especially valuable in the glass industry, where patterns are often very large and difficult to capture using conventional methods.
